It's hard to believe that it's been 12 years since 9/11. It's certainly a day that none of us will ever forget. I've read many books covering the subject, both memoirs and historical accounts, and one of the most moving was A Widow's Walk, by Marian Fontana.
While this definitely isn't Chick Lit, it was a very heartfelt memoir written by the wife of a firefighter who died in the twin towers. He was off duty but returned to work. It was their wedding anniversary. This book recounts that longest day, as well as the days and weeks after 9/11.
Definitely read this one with a box of tissues nearby. May we never forget.
