Remember this post I wrote about the Amazon settlement with publishers?
Traditional publishers were pricing their ebooks very high, refusing to lower the price, and Amazon was attempting to reach an agreement with them in a class action lawsuit.
Check your email today, because Amazon has reached a settlement with several publishers! If you've purchased Kindle books in the past, you probably have a credit from Amazon to use in the Kindle Store.
Here is an excerpt from the message I received from Amazon:
"The credit results from legal settlements reached with publishers Hachette, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, and Penguin in antitrust lawsuits filed by State Attorneys General and Class Plaintiffs about the price of eBooks."
Additional information is available on Amazon's website: www.amazon.com/ebooksettlements
Hopefully this will mean better ebook pricing in the future from the big name publishers.
What book(s) will you spend your credit on?
